Understanding Breast Disorders
Benign breast disease is a collective term for non-cancerous medical conditions that affect the breast disorders. Breast tissue is very sensitive and responsive to the influence of hormones, particularly estrogen. Most of the common disorders of the breast are due to the effects of estrogen dominance due to insufficient production of the hormone progesterone.
Throughout the monthly menstrual cycle the breast tissue is affected and can change with fluctuating hormone levels.
Progesterone deficiency in the second half of the menstrual cycle (luteal phase days 12-26) can result in breast tenderness, breast pain, hot breasts and increased breast density. Other commonly experienced symptoms include variable mood, depression, anxiety, fatigue reduced feeling of well-being, memory disturbances, loss of self-worth, menstrual changes, headaches and migraines. Progesterone deficiency is generally at its most severe from the mid-20’s until the early menopausal years.
Evaluate your symptoms with the online Progesterone Deficiency Symptoms assessment quiz.
